Just imagine how extremely happy we were when the following email dropped into the support inbox here at Pingdom:
We are obviously very flattered to have been chosen by this lovely African lady and that she wants to transfer all those millions of dollars into our bank account.
Needless to say, we will of course help this wonderful woman so she can invest in our business. How about that five star hotel idea she presented in her email?
(Yes, ok, we ARE kidding. But some of those spam emails are funny, especially when they land in a support inbox totally out of context. It would be funnier if it wasn’t for the sad fact that some unfortunate people are actually fooled by spam. According to some sources a full 12% of email users have tried to buy stuff from spam emails.)
