New feature: Select which probe location to use

We have added another neat feature to the Pingdom uptime monitoring service. You asked for it, and we listened. You can now choose from which location, or locations, you want to monitor your check.

probeselect

This is by far the most requested feature for My Pingdom, and granted it’s been a long time coming, but it’s here now and we’re very excited about this. Some customers have pointed out, rightfully, that they only need monitoring from either North America or Europe. This can be due to various reasons, but more often than not because their main traffic is from that area.

probe-location-selector

It is incredibly easy to pick from where you want to monitor. When you set up your check the default setting is set to test from both North America and Europe, but you can with one click choose just one of the two.

This feature, as many others we have added or are working on, is a result of feedback from our great customers. It’s available today for customers on our Professional and Enterprise plans. If you’re on a legacy plan such as Team and want to switch, just get in touch with our sales team and we’ll help you out.

We hope you like it. As always, don’t hesitate to let us know what you think.
